TRANSITION ARRANGEMENT TO QUALIFY for International Welding Coordination Personnel (IWCP)

(IWE & IWT Diplomas of the International Institute of Welding more than complies with the requirement of ISO 14731)

The Refresher course covering 20 topics as in the latest IAB Guideline covering different areas of welding, welding processes, materials & metallurgy, design and fabrication with 2+ hours of interactive sessions for each topic. The lectures are spread over 15 days and Q&A session are handled by the subject experts through ONILINE platform.

Note:

  • Course fees include charges for issue of relevant IIW Diploma to the successful candidate.
  • The Course fees for student candidates not eligible for Diploma will be ₹30,000.
  • Unsuccessful candidates in the examination, if permitted by the Examination Committee
    of ANB India (limited to two more chances only), will have to pay a re-examination fee of ₹10,000.
  • All the above fees are exclusive of applicable GST or any other taxes & levies

Candidates wishing to apply through the Transition Arrangements may opt for any of the IWCP qualifications, viz. IWEIWT and IWS.
However, the candidature will be examined and adjudicated by the Assessment Committee. For this the person’s qualification and experience requirements have to fulfil the IAB Transition Criteria at the cutoff date as on January 3, 2011. The decision of the Assessment Committee will be binding for admission to refresher course & to qualify through Transition Arrangement subject to successful in the examination conducted by ANB India.

The refresher course though meant for Transition route, is open to all welding professionals to improve their knowledge as student candidate.

The balance amount of fees (Table 2) should be paid once the Assessment Committee approves the candidature; this must be paid before the Start of course. The candidate may then attend the Refresher Course followed by the online MCQ test & Online Oral Interview. Successful candidates will be provided the IIW Diploma.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE for (IWCP) International Welding Coordination Personnel – (IWE/IWT)

Note: Applications for Alternative Route IWE/IWT qualifications following IAB-252-19 guidelines will be accepted till September 30, 2024. ANB India will roll out the new application process for Alternative Route following IAB-442 guidelines from October 1, 2024.

(IWE/IWT Diplomas of the International Institute of Welding complies with the requirements of ISO 14731)

The Alternative Route is a fast track IWE/IWT qualification process that does not involve fulltime study like the Standard Route at an
Authorized Training Body (ATB).This option is available for candidates with four years of relevant experience in welding nd related areas holding a responsible position. However, the candidate must be aware that no structured lesson input is provided by ANB-India in any of the modules. Candidates have to submit a specified application that will go through a rigorous check as per IAB rules to get admission. Following admission, the candidate has to clear one or more stages before being allowed to appear for the final examination.

Interested Candidates must go through the IWCP brochure for eligibility and application process (How to Apply) for Alternative Route. Candidates are required to send duly filled in Applications Form no. ANB-INDIA-F-CAF-44N-442 (available under the IWCP Download) along with CV highlighting the Qualifications obtained (with dates), experience in industry with mention of work related to welding, fabrication & related activities. The names of the organizations and period of engagement, position held & type of job function must be provided in
chronological order. This must be accompanied with copies of all qualification, experience certificates and testimonials from the past and current employers, and the prescribed ‘Application Fees’ + GST as applicable. Incomplete documentation and submission may result in the rejection of the Application by ANB-India.

  1. The Fees are to be effective for applications received from April 2026 for all Alternative route candidates applying following IAB Guideline 442 for IWE /IWT. Fees do not include GST and/or any other tax or levies as applicable.
  2. Fees payable for additional Project Interview by candidates who are required to appear for the same as per the recommendation of Interview Committee (ref Item 3) will be Rs. 30,000 & Rs.25,000 for proposal and project evaluation followed by interview for IWE & IWT Out of above project fees, Rs. 5,000 will be towards proposal/ topic approval. An additional fee of Rs.10,000/- would be charged for any new project proposal (abstract) submission after three (3) failed attempts of the previous topics.
  3. Examination and other fees are subject to change from time to time with prior intimation to candidates and as published in our website.
  4. However, for the first appearance in an examination covering both written and oral for a module, the fees applicable as per the rate applicable from October ’24, Rev.18_August ’24 i.e. Rs.40,000 will be applicable up to July 31,2026 after having cleared for appearing in the final examination covering all 4 modules as per IAB 252 (latest version) by ANB.
  5. Revised examination fees as per Doc. No.: ANB-INDIA: D: Fees: 08A r20 February 2026 (Rs.65,000) including enrolment will be applicable to all Alternative Route candidates appearing in examination after July 31, 2026.
  6. Unsuccessful candidates, may be allowed two more chances to re-appear for each Module in the examination covering both written test and oral examination but within a span of 6 years from first appearance following IIW-IAB rule & Guideline. Charges for reexamination will be at the rate prevailing at the time the reappearing examination takes place per
  7. Once examination fee is paid for appearing in a particular examination, it may be forfeited in case of non-appearance without any prior intimation in writing at least 7 days before the examination start date (written), but may be waived at the discretion of ANB-India in a specific case.
  8. ANB Examination may be conducted at an ANB approved location including an ATB premises to be intimated to each candidate directly. Successful candidates will be entitled for the International Diploma at the appropriate level
